Stewardship is at the heart of Le Collectif Racine.
To steward is not simply to help or assist. It is to care for something over time — to tend, to notice, and to take responsibility for what we share.
This space exists to honor the people who choose to walk alongside the work of the collective with attentiveness, patience, and care.
Why We Use the Word “Steward”
The word volunteer often implies temporary labor or transactional help.
We use the word steward to reflect a different relationship — one rooted in reciprocity, presence, and shared responsibility. Stewardship recognizes that meaningful work is relational and that care cannot be rushed or extracted.
Forms of Stewardship
Stewardship within Le Collectif Racine may take many forms, depending on context, capacity, and interest.
Some stewards offer time and presence.
Others offer skills, observation, or quiet support.
All forms of stewardship are valued when they are grounded in care.
Sanctuary Stewards
Sanctuary Stewards are stewards who support The Living Sanctuary Series.
This form of stewardship focuses on tending to living spaces — whether through presence, care practices, observation, or gentle maintenance. Sanctuary Stewards help ensure that these spaces remain welcoming, respected, and responsive to the communities they serve.
Sanctuary Stewardship is not about oversight or control. It is about attentiveness — listening to the space, noticing its rhythms, and responding with care.
An Invitation, Not an Obligation
Becoming a steward is not a requirement or a role to be filled.
It is an invitation extended slowly, with respect for personal capacity and boundaries. Some people may steward for a season. Others may return again and again. Both are welcome.
How Stewardship Unfolds
Stewardship begins with curiosity and conversation.
For those who feel called to explore stewardship with Le Collectif Racine, we offer a simple interest form as a starting point. This form is not a test or a screening process — it is a way to understand intentions, availability, and the kinds of care someone feels drawn to offer.
From there, stewardship unfolds through dialogue and shared understanding, allowing roles and rhythms to emerge naturally rather than being assigned in advance.
Becoming a Steward
If you’re interested in becoming a steward, you’re invited to share a bit about yourself through the form linked here.
Completing the form does not commit you to anything. It simply opens a conversation and helps us tend to stewardship relationships with clarity and care.
Stewardship may take different shapes and timelines, depending on capacity, place, and alignment. All participation is approached with respect for personal boundaries and lived realities.
Looking Ahead
As Le Collectif Racine continues to grow, new forms of stewardship will naturally emerge.
This page will evolve alongside the people and places that shape the collective — honoring those who choose to care for what is living, shared, and still becoming.
